Preseason 2015 / 2016 Game 2: v Shirebrook Town (a)

I and i'm certain most of the crowd at Langwith Road ground lost interest in Staveleys latest preseason game as early as the 18th minute when, the Trojans number nine Julian Topliss collapsed on the pitch resulting in lengthy ambulance treatment!. (more here)

Thankfully Julian is ok after giving everyone that massive scare.

The result?... irellevant of course but midway through a curtailed first half Jack Bradbury twisted and turned inside the box, created himself an angle and lifted the ball over the keeper and into the net, to secure a 0-1 victory. There were several chances to increase the lead in the second half with the pick of those being a spectacular volley from Ryan Watters which unfortunately pinged off the angle of post and bar.

Shirebrook Town 0 - 1 Staveley Miners Welfare - the first win in my four visits!
